Excess moisture and humidity within a buildings environment or in its structural element is usually the cause of the greatest damage such as rot, mold growth, decrease in structural strength, reduced insulation values, failure of flooring , roofing and wall support etc. A building or home inspector needs to be able to quickly locate, evaluate and pin point these areas of excess moisture quickly and accurately, preferably by non-destructive means (without damage to the material or element being tested).
